Tex Christopher Studios hosts “The Champ” at Enoteca Rossa Italian Restaurant
Houston, Texas (May 23, 2017) – He was an undefeated boxer with a knockout punch, 36-0, and headed for the heavyweight championship of the world—until an attempted murder left him with hundreds of stitches in his throat, a permanently scarred face, and a broken spirit.
Now, David “Niño” Rodriguez tells of his journey back from the brink of despair. With a no-holds-barred style that reflects his boxer’s craft, Rodriguez reveals the thorny, turbulent past that pushed him not only to the forefront of his sport, but also into destructive behavior, addiction, and thoughts of suicide—and ultimately to redemption as an advocate for bullied kids.
David appeared on “Great Day Houston” with Deborah Duncan early Wednesday morning the day of the evening reception at Enoteca Rossa restaurant in Bellaire where over 200 attended to receive him.
“It was so nice to meet the people of Houston and share my story and journey, we had an incredible time,” said David.
“We were so excite to host such an incredible athlete and person,” says Tex, “He is representative of the type of productions we are going to be a part of at Tex Christopher Studios.”
Attendees were invited to this “knockout” event hosted by Tex Christopher Studios and supported by the Houston Film Industry Meetup with Norman Fitts (5,700 members strong) and The Amazing Doc Greene Radio Show.
